Starting My Waffle Wand Business – The Beginning of Something Sweet 🧇

Sometimes the best ideas start with something simple.

For me, it started with waffles.

I’ve always loved the idea of creating something that looks amazing, tastes even better, and brings a little bit of fun to an occasion. After lots of thinking, planning and, of course, plenty of waffle tasting, I’ve decided to take the plunge and start my very own waffle wand business.

And the journey officially begins this October!

So, what is a waffle wand?

If you haven’t come across one before, a waffle wand is exactly what it sounds like — a delicious waffle served on a stick, making it easy to hold, easy to eat and, most importantly, lots of fun!

But I want to take it a step further.

My aim is to create beautifully presented waffle wands that can be personalised for different occasions. Whether it’s a birthday party, wedding, corporate event, Christmas celebration, school or community event, or simply an excuse to enjoy something sweet, I want each waffle wand to feel like a little treat made especially for the occasion.

Why start a waffle business?

Starting a business is a big decision, and I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I could create that I would genuinely enjoy.

I love the creative side of food — taking something fairly simple and turning it into something special.

There’s also something incredibly satisfying about seeing an idea develop from a thought in your head into something people can actually enjoy.

And let’s be honest… who doesn’t love a waffle?

The idea of a waffle wand business gives me the opportunity to combine food, creativity and events into one little business.

October – where it all begins

October is going to be a busy month!

There’s lots to organise before the first event. From equipment and ingredients to packaging, menus, pricing, food safety and setting up the stall, there’s a lot more to starting a food business than simply making delicious waffles.

I’ll be working behind the scenes to get everything ready and make sure the business looks as good as the waffles taste.

Choosing the chocolate

Of course, no waffle wand would be complete without chocolate!

I’ll be offering two delicious chocolate options:

Milk chocolate
White chocolate

Customers will be able to choose their favourite before creating their waffle wand.

And then comes the really fun part — the toppings!

I want to offer a selection of delicious toppings and decorations so that every waffle wand can be made to suit the event and the customer.

Will people actually like my waffles?

There will undoubtedly be plenty to learn along the way.

I’m expecting a few mistakes, a few stressful moments and probably a LOT of washing up!

But I’m also expecting plenty of fun.

The first event

One of the things I’m most looking forward to is the first time I set up the stall and actually sell my waffle wands to customers.

After all the planning, preparation and practice, that will be the moment when the idea becomes real.

I can already imagine the smell of freshly cooked waffles, the chocolate melting over them and people choosing their favourite toppings.

It will probably be a mixture of excitement and nerves!

But I think that’s part of starting something new.

Building something I’m proud of

My goal isn’t simply to sell waffles.

I want to build a business that people remember.

I want customers to look at their waffle wand and think, “Wow!”

I want the presentation to be beautiful, the waffles to taste delicious and the whole experience to be fun.

Most importantly, I want people to enjoy what I create.

Whether I’m catering for ten people at a small celebration or serving hundreds at a large event, I want every waffle wand to be made with the same care and attention.

Starting a business is a big adventure, and I’m excited to share the journey.

Over the coming months I’ll be sharing the highs, the lows, the behind-the-scenes preparation, the testing, the events and, of course, plenty of waffles!

There will be lots to learn along the way, but I’m ready to give it a go.

Here’s to taking a chance on an idea.
